2003 ES. Blown ML Sub. Crappy fix.
 

I have a blown sub in my 03. I was going to just snip the wires, but before I did that I stuffed a few small clothes in the housing to limit the travel of the cone.

It has stopped the annoying rattles and still has sound coming out.

It isn't perfect but it is better than cutting the wires imo. :)

Replace it with an aftermarket sub like I am.

I ordered a 8" JL 35w-150w 4 ohm subwoofer. I'll post pics/info when I install to let you know how it works. But my ES is a 2000, so the amp is probably different in spec.

Another member did it to his 3ES also.

The 4th Gen looks like it is a pain in the butt to take out the seat etc to get to the sub. Otherwise I would.
