Default New 98ES Suspension: KYB GR2 + VOGTLAND!

After 195,000 miles, I finally changes out my suspension! I replaced with OEM mounts, KYB GR-2's and Vogtland springs.

The ride is amazing, compared to what I had before. Response is quick, with little body roll on most mildly-aggressive turns.

Riding on stock 15"z, I'd say the car is quite jittery when trying to cruise. Minus the feel of the steering, I'd say my car feels most like a Civic Si sedan. Of course, that's me comparing to only 4 other cars that I drive extensively around here: G37x sedan, 328xi coupe, RSX Type-S, TSX I4.

It's a bit lower than I expected. I was expecting a drop just under an 1" lower than stock, but it looks closer to 1.25". The stance is GREAT, but I was looking for a bit more comfort for longer drives. It's only been a couple days, so maybe I need to wait for it to settle more.

I plan to upgrade to 17" es330 or avalon wheels this summer. I'm curious to see if that helps the car be more "stable".

Well, I can't be too picky, as I saved about $70 over H&R springs. Overall, I'm quite happy with the combo. Thanks to all you guys that bought it and tried it out before me!

Ahh, the German springs. I was debating those for my Camry since it was a 1.6" all around and I was iffy on the Teins which were 2" all around. Let us know how they go since I didn't really find good reviews on them

EDIT: Just want to mention I bought the Teins lol

It will be lower when it settles a little more. The springs "may" soften a little with time, but it will also get lower. So they kind of mute eachother. But you will defentily be lower in a couple weeks.

Yeah, I thought about the Teins quite hard, but it is supposedly lower. Height-wise, I'm assuming the Vogtland was the best I could get. I couldn't not find the Tanabe NF210 (if they even make it for Gen3).

As for settling, I'm just hoping it evens out the ride a bit. I'm expecting it to get lower over time.

I'm usually the DD when we go out, so I have to see how my car feels with 5 people. I don't carry a spare tire anyways.

$893 with OEM mounts. My buddy charged me 2.5 hours of labor.

I could have saved another $100 if I bought KYB strut mounts from eBay.

Snow storm brewing tonight. I'll see if I can get pics. Are there none on the forums?

The stock size tire for that wheel is 205/65/15. The drop looks nice, but those tires don't look right.

Too much sidewall will have a negative effect on handling.
