need help with making my lex hot

i received my lexus in march 09' as a gift from someone in my family so the cars in almost mint condition with 70,000 milage (which i think is good for a 96' no?)

i want to change the headlights because they SUCK, i think i want HID lights? i have no idea..but i feel i have to replace the glass that holds the lights in place (no clue what its called) because its fogged looking from what i guess would be age? where do i even go about getting these? a mechanic carries them?

and i want tints but i'm kind of scared i wont like them..

i want to make my car look hot, but not like a manly drug dealer car which i have a feeling is going to happen haha..

help?? suggestions please!

there's a thread on that, search, search search

the headlights dont suck. you can sw to HID kit without much problem as projectors were designed well enough. maybe you can just clean your headlights by taking them apart using the oven method.

welcome to the site.

I bought an HID conversion kit for my ES and it was pretty easy to install. It produces so much more light than the original halogens, which I agree, really suck! Check my sig for a link to my installation write-up. You could also try using some Meguairs Plast-x on the outside of your headlight lenses. It does wonders for getting rid of that nasty yellow fogginess.

And as for tint, I don't think I'd ever own a ride without tints. IMO, it just makes the car look sooooo much better. Plus, it helps to keep UV rays from destroying your car's leather. If you don't like it, you can always get it removed again, or peel it off yourself.

The fog came from exposure to the sun and microscopic bits of water and dust that got through the plug in the lights. If you bake your lights open and polish the projector lens, output will be improved immensely. HIDs are great for our 2ES's since its a direct plug and play with little glaring. Heres something you can expect once you clean the lenses ;)

Look in the hall of fame thread and look at the hot windom pics for other ideas.

its like having the sun under the hood with magnifying glasses in the headlight housings. as long as i have bumper, im not forking out money to do the swap and houseing bake job...... ;-)

You'll need a dash kit from ebay for like $20. Yeah I know ebay is crap sometimes but thats where I got mines. Or look up scosche stuff. Single din for a HU and double din for a dvd screen.

the size is the best part of hooking up a nice stereo man, you will be able to fit vast amounts of gear in the boot, but if you remove all of the factory crap under the passenger seat youll have a really nice little amp mounting spot, the factory speaker locations are fantastically versatile too. to keep it stock looking but sounding awesome.
