97 es300 cant shift from park!!!!
 

Hey im new to this site actually my first day. my car all of a sudden shut off at the red light and i put in to park and started it but it refuse to get away from park. i manage to get it off with the help of the cops. yesterday the dashbord light and my radio wouldnt come on and i cant still get it of from park. i need to know wats the problem cos dats the only car i got and school starts on momnday and i need to go to work. thanks.

Does the lever physically move out of park? If not, there is a override switch above the shifting handle. On the console where the gear selector is, there should be a plastic square that you pop off. Under that is a white button. Press the button while moving the gear selector and see if that gets it out of park. I had a similar issue in a '92 and it turned out to be a wire that was shorting a fuse. Check your fuses. On mine, the brake lights stopped working also.
