Default Basic 1mzfe modifications

Hey guys,

I have a 1997 Lexus es300 and I was wondering if anyone has had experience modifying the 1mzfe engine. I am talking about basic modifications (no trd supercharger). I was thinking something along the lines of a custom cold air intake, maybe just a straight metal pipe with an apexi cone air filter on the end surrounded by a custom cold air box. Could I get rid of the maf? I gained around 13 hp with a thermal plenum spacer on my 350z. do they sell plenum spacers from the 1mzfe. What kind of piggy back can i put on my ecu to increase performance and fuel economy? I am not going to mess with the exhaust, it doesn't seem worth it. Do you guys have any other ideas on how to increase the performance and fuel economy?

There are no chips or flashes for the car. CAI/SRI will have minimal gains. Unless you have $ to spend, your not really going to get any decent power gains unfortunatley.

You can;t get rid of the MAF. If you do, you'll have a car that won;t even start, let alone run.

save your $$$ and do not bother with mods. keeping this car in good running condition is the best thing you could do. Mods? Get a different car.

just my 2 cents.
