Default BG Ethanol treatment and fuel air induction service.

My dealer tells me I need the BG ethanol treatment and the fuel and air induction service. Car has 113000 miles and runs great, 04 ES 330, always run Mobil 89 octane or BP gas. I had the BG fuel system service done at 50000- 60000 miles. They base this on time/ mileage. What do you think, waste of money? Thanks for any input.

How much is it? Never trust dealers, sounds like they want to make some $$ off of you. If you want get a bottle of chevron injector cleaner and run it through next tank of gas.

Where I work, we use better cleaners than you can get off the shelf, however, i've never heard of it being something that had a service interval. Usually just a last attempt before replacing injectors or parts of the fuel system. I'd say if your car is running fine and your not noticing any mpg abnormalities just skip it.

Sounds like a scam to me.

You can get Chevron whole fuel system cleaner for about $12.00

Thanks for the input, I have 2 04 es 330 cars, one 112500 miles, one 45500 miles and a 02 es300 with 138500 miles. All run great. The chevron cleaner sounds good for $12 and not spending about $200. I don't know the history of the 02 es, but this is super clean, interior like new and rides and drives great. Sounds like just another rip off from the dealer and also my local shop. Thanks for the help with this.

I have used BG44 fuel system cleaner in my Dodge Hemi for years with great results..... Pour a can in your tank every 6000 miles and you will notice a difference in performance within 200 miles. I have always been skeptical about these cocktails (AKA: mechanic in a can) but this BG line of products that works and gets rave reviews from mechanics who have used it.
These BG products can be hard to find since they are for the "PROs" who have been set up with the full line of products.
I know some of the BG products can be found on flea bay. I say buy a can or two and give it a try..... You have nothing to loose except a few bucks.
