Injector removal
Searched for this and got like 7 posts, all unrelated.
FSM doesn't mention if you are supposed to relieve fuel pressure before you do this stuff. I looked at my fuse box and there was no fuel pump relay installed where it was supposed to be next to my A/C relay. And how much force is required to remove the injectors? Everything plastic I touch is breaking on this car. |
duh, of course you relieve the fuel pressure
and removing the injectors is faily easy. im curious, why are you removing them? are the all original, how many miles on them , etc? i would rec new orings i think they are 7mm [cheap, any parts store with smart employee will get em for you] |

] #4 was at 6k ohms. Have 180k miles, so all are original as far as I know. If you recall my vibration problem, this was the cause. Which is quite irksome, because I took it to a toyota stealer and they told me I had bad plug wires. I tested every one and they were good. They quoted $390 to change them+spark+cap+rotor. Well, that wouldn't have fixed the problem. Charged me $60 to tell me the wrong thing, and it takes 10 seconds to measure the resistance of an injector on these things. Do you suppose I should get my money back? |

How? The way I've always done it is by removing the fuse and running it until it dies, but there doesn't seem to be one in the engine compartment.
