Post 97' ES300 problem/issues

I am searching for an ES300 between 97-00 for my friend. Is there any issues that I need to know about such as oil leaks, 02 sensor failure, power steering failure?

I owned a 96 ES300 in the past and the above issues came up with only 96000 miles.

Thanks in advance

I've had my 97 for almost 3 years now, and my only real problem I have come across is my clearcoat on the roof has begun to peel off
Other than that, No problems to report here.
Normal upkeep and changed out 2 o2 sensors.

oil sludge / gel ---> engine failure

big ugly rims, usually chrome, being added to the car

About that oil sludge / gel ---> engine failure = there is no way for you to know before you buy the car.It all comes to luck{as any used car**.You have a 50% chance it will never start every time you put the key in it.I guess this is valid for the 5 speed llcoolpass has also, mine is for sure.

I have a 97 with @134k, and an 00 with @66k. I have had the O2 sensors on the 97 replaced a couple of times, also 2 starters. Motor mounts replaced this week, and was advised that the power steering pump was starting to weep a bit. Radio display lcd blacked out. Replaced the O2 sensors on the 00, that's been pretty much it other than normal maintenance items.
