Default Bizare Climate Control Light Problem

Hello Everyone. I am a new member to this site. I have encountered a bizare situation w/my 04' ES330 and I hope you guys can offer some advice. I will try to keep this brief:

1. Had Sirius radio installed.
2. I had no backlights on the radio or climate control the first time I turned on my headlights (two days after install).
3. Eventually all back lights came on, but now the climate control bar does not light up when the headlights are turned on. All other back lights on radio and climate control work fine, but the bar which indicates tempeture, mode, fan speed, etc.... does not come on when the headlights are on. All back lights work properly when the headlights are off.
4. Took it back to Best Buy. They could not figure it out. They unplugged the power to the cigarette lighter and the backlight functioned properly.....for a few minutes....then it flickers and goes out. Now it goes off after a few minutes when the headlights are turned on.

I am at wits end. I have had multiple people look at it and everyone just scratches their head. I would assume it was broken, but everything works properly except the bar on the climate control when the headlights are on. The buttons on the climate control light up properly with, or without, the head lights on.

ANY suggestions would GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

The fact that this problem only occurs when you turn your headlights on makes me wonder if it could have something to do with your cluster/console dimmer module. Just a wild guess, but might be some place to start looking?

Good luck.

I'd take it back to where you had the Sirius installed and get THEM to fix what they broke!

best buy always screws things up...id never have them install anything on my car!
the previous owner of my car had an XM radio installed by best buy and they spliced the wires into my oem head unit in such a way that it messed up the antenna cable so that the regular radio stations went in and out all the time....i had to re wire my radio harness/antenna wires just to get my radio to work normally without the XM unit (i hate satellite radio and id never use it anyway so wtf good is it to me?)
long story short, they F'd it up, they should have to fix it!
