Radio auto-leveling volume
 

Is there any way to defeat or adjust the volume auto-leveling function? It sometimes seems too sensitive.

You cant adjust but you can disable using the sequence below


A. Verify the radio is on before turning the ignition key to the “OFF” position.
B. On the radio faceplate, push and hold preset number “2” and preset number “5”
at the same time.
C. Turn the ignition key to the “ACC” position while continuing to hold presets “2”
and “5”. (“ASL ON” will appear on the display.)
D. Release presets “2” and “5”.
E. Press the “CD” button to toggle between ASL “ON” and ASL “OFF”. When the
display reads “ASL ON”, the ASL function is enabled. When the display reads
“ASL OFF”, the ASL function is disabled.
F. Turn Ignition key to the “OFF”

Thanx! Is there a list of all the stuff like this for this car, like passenger seatbelt warning on or off?

Justfixit: Thanks for sharing! I wondered if this could be shut off. It IS annoying! Especially during the first 30 seconds when suddenly the volume just suddenly goes way up.

Does the 2000 Platinum series have this feature?

Ariyanna, I *assume* it would as there was little difference from 00' to 01'. Try it out.

Yeah, I just thought mine was wacky - really low first 1-20 secs, then BAM! But, sometimes it works REALLY well - my buddy has a Corvette with it, even has a sensitivity adjustment, and it SUCKS!

Dude you are awesome. I called 3 dealers and they couldn't figure it out. I have a 2001 ES 300 and gonna try it. I'll comment after. Thanx.
