Is the engine in the car and all hooked up?

I have always had good luck as a last resort with a breaker bar laying up against the control arm and bumping the starter 2 times at the most. I am not sure if that is what you were refering to when you wrote starter beep.

i mean like JSM is getting at, if the engine is in the car and you can do this then do this: put breaker bar against the ground and crank the engine using the starter. LOTS of torque this way. and safe, just put the breaker bar on the appropriate 'side'... i believe the crankpulely turns clockwise which means the bar will rest on the ground towards the rear of the car. but make sure which way it cranks.

edit: "The breaker bar towards the front of the car against the pavement" as esucaris1 correctly points out two posts later

And unhook the fuel pump, or ignition coils so the engine doesn't start.

And have someone hold the socket on so it doesn't pop off - if you have a socket wrench, that would be better.

DA300ES Mar 26, 2009 11:32 AM

starter trick not workin . the bolt is still tight... :(

BDSL Mar 26, 2009 11:39 AM

Are you putting the socket on the right bolt? It always works for me by short quick starter burst.

mmatheny Mar 26, 2009 11:45 AM

Sorry, I meant closed end wrench. Is your battery fully charged?

DA300ES Mar 26, 2009 11:50 AM

yes battery fully charged . it move but will not loose .. i think i need to wait till sunday to try it again coz i need to work six days ... :( i will post some update on sunday . thx everyone

mmatheny Mar 26, 2009 11:53 AM

See if you can get some penetrating oil back in there to let it marinate until Sunday. You don't want to heat it, because then you'll be replacing the harmonic balancer!

ok i changed the contact in the starter , got another fully charge battery and try it again today .. ............that bolt will not break loose ... ........... still tight .......... hv anyone torch that bolt before ???? should i torch it or not ???????? need opinion ... thx

Find someone with a bigger impact gun. Unless a gorilla put the bolt on, one of the three methods you listed should have worked.
