Headers for 3VZ

this plan might not go anywhere but I contacted JP performance to see what would it take to "motivate" them to make headers/Y-pipe for the 92-93 camry/es300. they said they would do it but they need a minimum order of 15. Is anybody interested?

i thought they already have these? or are they for the 1mz? JPP is pretty expensive from what i recall

Thats unreasonable. They say they need 15 people, I say I need a number before I write my name down for some. Contact them again and ask for an approximate price for the 15 members, shipped. If it wasn't more than going to any other shop then I'd put my name down.

I'm somewhat interested, but like bad viper said I'd like a quote.

we realize its no performance sedan but that shouldnt stop people from investing money in their cars.

more news: $1350 with cat & $1250 with without it. stainless steel tig welded. i think thats cheaper then the 1MZ set.

Something else I found. Your money might be spent in better places. I'm not knocking the header craving; I have it myself. But this guy's the guru on our 3VZs:

From there... It gets relatively expencive with headwork, cams, or a turbo/supercharger. Unless you just feel like slapping a $450-550usd wet n2o kit on. Thats always the most cost effective way.

BTW header suck. $800-1200 for custom headers, and they don't provide the power a good y-pipe will make on stock headers. I could babble on about header design, but I don't feel like it today. :) The problem is that shorty headers are all you'll ever find, and you'll never talk someone into making a set of real long tube headers. Short headers simply don't work. btw, I wont say what the optimal header primary tube length on the 3vz-fe's & 1mz-fe's is, b/c I may yet make a set or two. I will say it is well over 3 feet long. *Noooobody* is ever gunna make u some that long b/c they'd never figure out how to merge them LoL! ;)

Skip the headers. Just get a good y-pipe made & put on. It'll be better than the headers anyone will be able to make you without some serious fab on it.

I don't know about anyone else but i'm trying to build a show worthy ES. And the looks of the engine are pretty lacking. So I would like these headers, not for power, but for looks. Anyone else kinda feel the same?

I'd honestly be shocked if headers gave me more than 1 hp at full rev.. Still, we drive ES's, why go fast when you can look better going slow? :D

what JP should do and i know isnt gonna happen is put the 3vz on a engine dyno then throw the headers then the ypipe then both together to see the gains. im curious of how it would sound with a nice catback in addition to the headers/ypipe
