New 1994 ES300 Owner / Keyless Remote Questions
I just bought a 94 ES300 with a billion miles on it. (Actually 174k) it is decent shape on the exterior and the interior looks brand new. That leather seems to hold up well. (I got it for $3200)
I got two keys with the car. Neither has the key with the button on it for remote unlocking/locking. Will the 3 button remotes found on ebay for the 95/96 cars work at all?
The FCC ID for the key that I should have is HYQ1512A and the ebay remote's is HYQ1512P. Close, but close enough?

Welcome to Club Lexus and congratulations on getting the ES 300. Good deal and she'll definitely go and go. As long as the preventative maintenance is being done your car will do another 174K miles easy...

Congrats on making a very wise car buying decision!
My '93 ES has about 100K more miles on it than yours and purrs like she did when first driven out of the showroom. So, like Trexus said, good regular maintenance will keep yours running forever!...well, for a long time to come anyways!
About the remote entry: I have my doubts that a close match with the FCC code is good enough.
