Default Pictures, Questions, Plans

First, a pic of the whip as it is now:

Couldn't be any happier with her! After the new transmission things have been going great.

And now, here was what Santa brought me for Christmas:

That's right, brand new leather seats!!!

And heres the tail and engine just for kicks:

Dirty little engine.... oh well.

Now I have a question.. On the driver's side door, when it is closed or near closed, the speaker and foot light don't work at all. When I open the door all the way the speaker plays and the light illuminates. It can't be a fuse because they do work, just not when the door is close to being closed or closed all the way. And the trunk and gas button work at all times. I'm think it's a wire problem but I have no idea what to do about it. Still need to find out why my exhaust rattles at only 2.1k rpms... chime in if anyone knows why.

And for plans... I'm not going to turbo her, however I am going to go ahead with a water/alcohol injection. If anyone can find me a cheap cold start injector that would be greatly appreciated. And looks like as soon as I get some money I'm grabbing a pair of ksport coilovers and executive rims. Woot! Still lots to do with this car.. Tell me what ya'll think.

It is a wiring problem, Most likely a broken wire in the boot that goes from the A-pillar into the door.

Cool

She looks clean and gorgeous!
What was your source for the seats? Is it Lexus (buttery) leather?
I wouldn't mind replacing my front seats.

What are you expectations with the water/alcohol injection? How do you anticipate tuning the ECU/engine once you get the water/alcohol injection system installed and functioning?

Cleanest interior I've seen!
I would have re upholstered my seats in brand new leather....if not for the extremely high mileage of the car.
How does the nice and soft leather feel....new car smell?

You might have a pinched wire for the speaker/ light problem.

New leather looks clean. Does it make the rest of the interior look old?

All in all, a very clean car.

Thank you! Nope, after some quick research I found out it's pleather, which is basically a vinyl. The color matching isn't perfect, however driving conditions have increased ten-fold and the seats are extremely comfortable. With the ECU... since I'm not installing a turbo, the water/alcohol injection will not have as much of an effect on the engine as if I Did put a turbo on. That in mind, If after the installation I experience problems, I might adjust the AFM cog or setup a piggyback ecu. I wish Pheonix would've left instructions on how far to turn the AFM cog to get a perfect A/F ratio.

$500 for the driver seat, $500 for the passenger, and $200 for the back. And I'm gonna agree with you on the rusted heat shield theory, however I'm just going to tighten it up instead of remove it.

Thank you for the kind words! "Santa" also took the high mileage into consideration, but this car is a gold mine. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. And the first ride in it was amazing! Smelled like I was test driving a brand new Lexus from the dealership!

Surprisingly, it wasn't any big name shop or shop franchise. My dad found a man who does all of his own work out of a rented space and he guarantees it'll last forever.

Yup, last year the old radiator exploded going down the road. And when Firestone put in the new one they didn't attach the hoses correctly and three weeks later it overheated a minute from home... I cant wait till i can drop in a JDM 3vz and sleep soundly at night.

Am I going to have to dis-assemble the door to get to where I need to be? Somewhat yes, because the leather on the doors is still a different shade, but it all looks good.
