That rectangular pocket holds 3 safety flares, the ones you strike with the cap and use them once. At least they fit perfectly in mine.
The First Aid kit sits on the left side, the Velcro hooks hold it to the trunk liner.

Hi there,
When purchased (second hand used car from local dealer), there was nothing inside, but yeah, that is the jack which should be in there.
I've purchased the jack and put it there and it fit finely.. I'm still talking about the right side space when open the cover (pocket) in the trunk! Hope it helps..
