AVS Adaptive Variable Suspension Questions

My wife has a 97 ES300 with the adaptive variable suspension and she thinks it might be time for replacements. She has been complaining about the ride and bounce. I haven't seen a difference but I do not drive it everyday. Can anyone tell me what the cost might be for replacement struts. I searched this forum and suppliers to no avail. See a few threads that indicated going away from the AVS was best due to cost. Aside from cost is there any other reasons to consider standard struts? Any suggestions or recommendations on replacements? Thanks for any help you can provide.

goodluck. sounds like youve got yourself a rare air equipped suspension. and last i heard, it was darn expensive to replace. you may want to look into non air equipped suspension struts thoughy

those are really rare, for our lx, when the suspension went bad, we brought it to the dealer and they fixed it for free after the warranty went out, but im not sure if they would do that for the es, but noharm in trying i guess rite?

AVS: to buy or not to buy?

My wife is getting a gs 350. She'd like a "sporty" feel, which I think means generally better handling, less "boaty" on lane changes/swerves, tight around corners in mostly city, some country driving. What actual differences can a driver feel with AVS?

Both my ES's have had the AVS feature (previous ES was a 2001). I'd be curious what the dealer says for the cost as well.....I never had to replace them personally, but I really enjoy having it. Keep us posted.
