Question Paint Ideas?

I have been searching the google I mean the internet for some custom paint idea's for my es. Now I'm going to paint the whole car but I would like to stick with a white base but really want to do a custom pearl or candy on top of it. The only thing I can think of and I'm not even sure if it is possible is to do white with that Cadillac burnt orange pearl paint on top so hopefully it would fade from white to orange depending on the light. Oh and during my searching I found this Never thought I'd see the day someone would do that to their es.

I'm in love with the new Starfire Pearl color on the new GS and IS. If I ever repaint my car I want that color.

Are you going to paint your car or have someone else paint it?

I personally love the Black Sapphire Pearl that the IS sports. Great color and with a silver pair of 18 Volk TE37's it'll round out quite nicely

^I like the color the problem is that in order to change a white car to black you would have to paint the engine compartment and the entire door jam as well. Also i'm keeping my is350 18's I spent way to much time redoing my studs to put new rims on again.

See thats what I don't know I know little about paint. What I need to know if I can paint it white with different color metallic chips in it so that it would almost change colors in different light.

You don't want to do a metallic.

What you want to do is find a nice pearl color. This will go on after the white and before the clear coat. Some painters even mix the pearl into the clear and then spray it. You know what brand of paint you want to go with? Some manufacturers have special effects pearls that have two different hues (colors) depending on the angle and lighting. For instance, violet/emerald pearl, baby blue/ pink rose. It is very subtle and your car will be seen as a white car from far, but the closer the view, the more the pearl will become apparent. Sikkens makes some cool looking pearl coats. I haven't painted a car in over 8 yrs so I might be a little rusty in my info. as far as what is available. Talk to the guy who is going to paint your car. Hopefully he is knowledgeable about the current paints available. Most paint guys just know application and aren't into the different color combinations.

^Good info I have to find the time to go up and talk to him. I looked on Sikkens website and other sites that sell their product and can't find any pictures of the colors tho.
