Sorry, but "ks sensors" are...? It's probably the lack of sleep, but for the life of me I can't think of what those might be.

A shot in the wind says knock sensors any bets???

uhh... i got 25 and 55... any help with that...i was told that 55 are the knock sensors.. i have no idea where the "knock sensors" are... also told that 25 means that i am running lean..... i changed the timing belt when i had the jdm engine out of the car... everything lined up but when i turned the entire engine around, the lines on the cams and the bottom line all lined up .... but every revolution, the line on the belt moved over 1 tooth... but everything else was lined up perfectly...???.... and i think the distributor might be a little off.. but would that make the engine light come on... and also the injectors make a lot of ticking ... maybe clogged...?????

esucaris1 Nov 13, 2007 02:40 PM

the timing marks on the belt will change every revolution as long as you started with the belt marks on the money your ok as the pulley marks will still align...

madmax98 Nov 13, 2007 02:50 PM

the injectors should be ticking < that's a good sign>

i would check the O2 sensors, and timing with a timing light< autozone does it for free> it should be 10 degrees BTDC.

Lexus4You Nov 13, 2007 06:24 PM

"wipes sweat from forehead".... thank goodness... thought i might have done something bad with the timing... even though it runs good... uhh... what should i do if its "running lean"....... im thinking that if the engine light doesnt go out then i will just take out the bulb... im not spending $160 on a knock sensor... so... if i dont fix the problems will it damage my engine in the long run or will it just decrease the performance of my engine?... too much work to change a sensor and make a light go out... if u know what i mean...and also.. i think one of my valves is sticking or something because its ticking a lot when it warms up... would this have anything to do with the timing/knock sensors/lean issue.... i put lucas engine stuff in the oil when i changed it and it made a little difference.... i think the next step is to sea foam it.... maybe clear everything out... and also is it a myth that if you use octane boosters and 91 octane gas that it will send the o2 sensors off creating a engine light problem ????

thanks for the help guys.. i know these questions are a little newbie of me... just trying to narrow down the possibilities..

madmax98 Nov 13, 2007 06:28 PM

ummmmm, a knock sensor is there for a reason. actually, the lack of it can lead to the end of your engine, so fix it as soon as you can.

madmax98 Nov 13, 2007 06:29 PM

oh don't forget to check your timing!

yr0169tw Nov 13, 2007 08:49 PM

Ks sensors = Knock sensors, better replace 2 sensors at the same time because it take time to remove engine components.
