Talking Sucess!!!

I know you don't see many HAPPY posts on a forum site, but I just had an AMAZING experience with my Lexus. Last night my car started running rough, especially at idle and during initial takeoff, VSC, VSC OFF and Check Engine lights all came on. After a MILD freakout, I decided that since I had this car for literally two days before this happened, I would take it to Autozone for a quick scan before I paid for anything more. Came up with P0304 (Cylinder 4 Misfire, same as P030[1-6]) Went home last night to do some research, found that the spark plugs or ignition coil could be the culprits. I opened my cars hood for the first time and figured out how to check the spark plug, looked ok to me. No idea where to go from there, I assumed the black "thing" I took off the spark plug was the coil, so I asked twitter where to find a cheap version of one, "iancanfield-mastrmind" told me to go to John's Auto Parts in Blaine. Found EXACTLY what I needed. Broke back into my engine, 3 minutes later I had a FULLY functional and smooth as butter Lexus again.
Thanks Club Lexus for ALL of the suggestions and help!
How do I clear my Check Engine light without a scanner now?!

First off, welcome to the club!

You should be able to clear the CEL if you pull the EFI relay (in the box under the hood) for at least a minute and a half.

Hello, and shouldn't the check engine light clear itself?

no, most models of lexus still wont clear out the code automatically. so pull the ecu fuse. or i pull the negative battery term, and let it reset about 10 min later. the upside is that if you drive it aggressively, the car will adjust itself to your style of driving.

oh and hi all!

Go back and get it scanned and have them reset it? I did it to mines with my OBDII reader to reset it and my check engine light turned off for a while.
