hi i have a problem with my 96 es300 my key is stuck in the ignition and i try to turn it back and for some reason it won't unlock and come out so what could be the problem.

 

If it's an automatic, make certain the gear selector is in Park, otherwise it won't let go.

 

Jiggle the steering wheel left and right while pulling on the key.

 

i still can't get the key out so what else can i do.

 

Had a similar problem with my 2000 ES. I just kept pulling the car forward a little, engage the parking brake, put the car in park and trying it. For some reason it wasent clicking properly in park. It took me a few times but it eventually came out.

This is only a temporary quick fix. Notice "temporary".
Put your gear in park. Then take out the positive cable to the battery. Go take your key out. Then put your positive back on. But if you put the key back in, it might or will get locked again.

 

I did that and the key came out but is there a another solution to this problem.
