Keyless Entry

Happy Easter all!

I have a 1995 ES 300 and my keyless entry stopped working. At first I thought it was the battery in the keyfob, so I replaced it and it still doesn't work.

Has anyone encounter a similar issue? Can some please instruct me where should I look next for the root of the problem?

Thanx

There's a REMOTE OFF/ON switch to the left of the steering wheel next to the outside mirror controls. If this switch is set to OFF the button on your key will not lock/unlock the doors. I accidently turned the Remote switch off too at one time without noticing and thought my keyless entry was messed up!

Yep. Bump mine ALL the time getting in and out. If you have grasshoppa legs, it can happen.

I cursed the remote system the first few times it happened. Now I automatically assume it's my fault when it happens.

i have a 95... and my keyless stopped working too...
i tried looking for the master switch.. but i couldnt find it

Sit in your car. Place your left hand on your left knee. Now ram your left hand in a direct line at the dashboard to the left of the steering column.

It's a little rocker switch with a white key on mine.

is it where the mirror control switch is?

i only have a knob to adjust the volume of the tone for the keyless... i dont have the rocker switch there... unless im looking in the wrong place

It's to the right of the mirror adjustment controls. I don't have a keyless tone volume knob, so that might be the difference. Interesting.

AgntTinkle Apr 11, 2007 04:02 PM

Choas Apr 11, 2007 04:42 PM

You ain't retarded, you just can't hear too well !! http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...idesplit-1.gif (j/k)

The volume knob is for adjusting how loud the beep is when the car's doors are locked or unlocked. I'm not sure in which year it was added - maybe '95?
