I know some people on here have installed the razo shifter on the es.
BTW, what do your cluster needles look like? Did you paint them? |

I changed my shiftknob last year...it wasnt hard process at all....just pop the two screw covers in the back of the shift knob....pull out the lever and just rewiring the o/d button to the new shifter |

I'm looking on that site for some now. Too bad it's in America, shipping will probably cost as much as the gearknob!! Ohh, and I'm looking through these shifters for sale, but it's hard to come by one for an auto... is it possible to chuck a manual one on, or do you specifically need an auto one? And is there a specific size you went by or something? |
No I didn't paint them, they are just red... but will soon be replacing the burnt out lights for back of the cluster and needles, with LED's in maybe bright white for the backlights (numerals etc), and blue for the needles Blue would be impossible to do on the es's b/c there is red plastic covering it. |
Try looking on ebay as well, I have seen a couple different ones there.
Also where are you located that has the right hand drive ES? Australia? |
Im located in Australia, so it isn't too uncommon to find an ES with a right hand drive :P
|
you probably could throw the manual shifter in there...ive seen it done...you just need to rewire the overdrive to a separate switch and mount it somewhere
|
Woah, not only is it RHD, but they have a foot pedal parking brake! IIRC in the US only the '97s onward had that. (I prefer the hand brake thank you very much:D )
In fact, the whole dash is a mirror image......all the switches and knobs. Wow musta been an expensive process for Toyota/Lexus. I know BMW just swaps the steering column and that's it. |

Lets see, I have a bigger picture here of when I first got the car... A lot of people get confused with the whole handbrake thing whentrying to turn off the car |
Wow, the center armrest (or do you spell it as centre....) is actually usable. The low one in ours serves zero purpose (it's far too low to use while driving). I wonder why they found a need to change that around.
Drifting in one of these? Puhlease I have something else for that. :p |
Yeah, this is the first car I have been in where the armrest is actually really good. It sits perfectly with your arm, so when your cruising, there's none of that 'lost' feeling.
