HMMM, im not sure if mine are staggered but i mean i think a car just looks and sits nicer when it is staggered even though it is pretty pointless with a FWD. As long as they sit on the car i wouldnt mind whether its staggered on a FWD or not.

staggering is very bad. learn about oversteer countersteer. then youll see why. personally, i wouldnt do it. and the rims you pictured? why do they have a bmw centercap. because more than likely the bolt pattern is going to be off. btw, those are some nice wheels. a believe they are portofino's.
ok, i just did the estimates for 18*8.5 +40et. it should fit, only if youre still on shock/struts. if youre coilover then barely.
goodluck

Staggering is when the back tires and/or wheels are wider then the front wheels. I know about the oversteer and understeer, personally i love oversteer (when its on purpose).. i HATE understeer!!!(i dont think anyone likes it).... im still thinking about getting them or not. Thanks for doing the calculating to see if they will fit, now im that much closer to ordering them

So if the tires wider in the back will it oversteer or understeer.

I wouldn't do the staggered setup either, unless your getting a great deal on those set of wheels i'd pass on them

Yeah like i said oversteer you can take care of, not to much the understeer, its just annoying. If you stagger you have much better traction in the back and not so much in the front your probally looking to have understeer but it wont be an unbareable amount because i dont think to many people like to or even can take to hard of turns in your ES's, correct me if im wrong...

The tires are going to be 2 inches wider in the rear. So basicly i will have to turn the wheel a lot more to turn.

Thats correct, but it wont be a substantial amount. Its kinda like if your car comes stock with 16's and you upgrade to like 19's your speedometer is off by some small number, but nothing big....

Choas... Im not sure if you understood me right, i'm not sure if you understood "understeer", its when say its wet or snowy out and you go to make a left turn and you turn the wheel to the left but the car keeps on going straight... You wont have to turn the wheel more to make a turn, the amount of rubber thats touching the ground in the back wont make a difference in how wide you take a turn...

Ok I think I get it now . I'm not planning on putting these on in the winter so the snow won't be an issue. For in the rain it will basicly be like my old mustang with bald tires in the rain. So I can def. deal with that also after using the maita tire calulator site i found that these tires are actually i tiny bit smaller than my stocks so the speedo won't be off by much.

Ls430 18inch oem rims fit good but rubbing in the rear tires are 245/45/18 don't want to use spacers would a smaller tire help?
