60,000 mile service

I personally would get all the work done as Lexus recommends. Whether you want to investigate outside mechanics or whatever, but keep your car happy or you'll pay more later.

MY 120k tune up:
oil/lube/filter -- $10 from local garage
timing belt -- $375 installed (an outrageous deal)
eibach springs $250 installed (not neccessary, but damn nice)
KYB struts $300 installed (same as the eibachs)
As far as the belts (except the timing belt) go, you can pay anywhere from 100 - 500 installed at a speed shop.
You can easily change all the fluids by yourself.
I believe the inspection points are all about the frame and suspension - since i hit a deer a while back and got my front frame replaced, i didnt have to worry about that part too much
If you cannot inspect the engine parts by yourself, or have a friend do it, just go for the dealer price -- 600 bucks isnt too bad. I go to Lexus of Dayton, which services a lot less cars than your dealer does, and the 120k tune up can cost up to 2,500 bucks.
