When you turn the key to start the car however when key is stop at the point just the prior to start the key. It is at "ON" position. What kind of sound do you hear initially. I have 2000 ES300 which does not create any sound however 2006 ES330 makes a initial noise. I have Nav system on 2006 ES330 and maybe it is creating a initialization noise.

 

Well for my '01 ES, the initial sound goes like *ding*... *ding*... *ding*... *ding*. I'm pretty sure that's what you're supposed to be hearing in your '00 ES.

Anyone with 2006 ES330 with Nav. What do you hear when you put your key at "ON" (not going through "START" position) position?

 

I have a non Nav 06' 330.. Yup it does the initialization process... its kinda cool sound.. it goes ding ding when you put the key.. and when you position it to start you hear Grrrg and continues to intialize before the beep comes to a stop..
