i posted at Toyota Nation but figured id find more info here

"looking at a 92 es300 auto loaded with 215k miles on it just wondering if anyones had serious problems with the car or i should look for anything its been owned by a toyota dealership mechanic most of its life (friend of the family) oil changed every 2,500 miles tranny flushed ever 20k miles timing belt replaced about every 60k along with waterpump only thing i can see wrong is the seats are starting to rip not a big deal 2 me."

also what can you do to these cars besides the basics.. wheels,exhaust and stereo?

Check the history to see if it's had a head gasket change. Warm the engine up & do a real compression / leak-down test. Past that... It's a tank.
Same as anything else. Check the cv boots, everything under the sun & flush every fluid the second you get it & can afford too. (Transmission, powersteering, brake, differential & oil.)

I would say SOLID car. I love mine. No major problems, just a few anoyances, slow passenger window, dash lights burning out.

also just found out he replaced the tranny like 60k miles ago and its had the whole top end redone
