sound system project
trying to set up the configuration for a new sound system ..............i just bought a box with 2 kicker l-7 10 inch subwoofers ..........im going to replace the door speakers with 4 6.5 kickers 2 way speakers ................one problem though ..........i want to use the housing to my tweeters ...now i dont know if i can crack them open and stick better tweeters in them or not i know that if i hook the stock tweeters into the head unit that i want there going to blow the factory tweeters .............so what can i do????

hey vin i have a 97 es300 ...........im looking to add the kicker components to the front ...and im trying to find out if i can open the housings and replace the factory tweeters

Run those L7's on an amp under rated @ 1200watt @ 1ohm. I just sold my beloved ones & my JBL 1200.1. They are viscious.
It took a little exacto knife & epoxy, but I was able to stuff the 1" infinity kappa tweeters in my stock location. I don't see why you can't take your cover off & do the same.

Just swear to me you will ditch the stock head unit & amp, if you haven't allready. They're sucky.

lol nahhh ...i havent traded the stock system yet ive grown very fond of the 6 disc cd changer ...its so practical and mounted perfectly in the glove box ......i cant seem to let it go ...lol.....is there a way to keep the cd changer if i swap the head unit ............

what about
what about changing the factory sub and just adding this bad boy to the mix .....just to keep the car looking stock and clean this particualr jl happens to be an 8 inch sub but i dont believe its free air ..so im not sure what kind of sound i'll get
