license plate lights
just wondering, is it required by law to have lights that illuminate your license plate?
i reallly wanna just disconnect them... for obvious reasons, i hate people calling me in
and how exactly do you do that... i wanna be able to fix em back up when i sell the car later
just feelin out my possibilities.....

I know in California you have to have them functioning, and they can't be anything but white/off-white.
If you really are that paranoid about getting in trouble for your criminal activities you could do what I did to a friend's car back in high school. I just tapped into the license plate lights line and put a switch in-line. That way any time we were (edited thanks to the fifth) we could just turn off the lights and go undetected.
It's slightly illegal... but I won't tell if you don't.
