Quick question about wheels on a 96'

Hey guys... My parents own a 96' Lexus es 300. I am curious if I could put on 98' Lexus GS 400 wheels, they are 16' inch with winter tires on them. Bridgestone Blizzak MZ-01 225/55R16
Rims are stock 16 x 7 Lexus GS 400 curious to know if they fit the 96' es 300. I can get them really cheap so I was thinking of using them for winter. Thoughts???

Look up the bolt & offset of both vehicles.

I think it will work. I just put my 01 GS wheels and tires on my 97 ES. I had to buy 3/8 inch spacers for the rear wheels.

The bolt pattern is the same... only thing I am worried about is the bigger tires, not necessarly the wheels. I don't really want to run spacers on the parents car. I am only looking into this, cause I can get the wheels and tires for around $300. Any help would be greatly apperciated, also this is only for winter... Then going back to stock 15' inch wheels.

You can try it without the spacer. In my case, both tire and wheel rubbed slightly against the shock absorber casing.

What is your concern about the spacer ?? You only need 1/4 inch. There is plenty of thread left on the bolts.

On four wheel drives, the rear wheels just tag along. Their is no strain on them.

thanks for the advice! Only reason why I am kind of scared to use a spacer, is I never used one before... Also have no idea how exactly it works, and how it will do. If I don't rub (which I higly doubt). I will probaly use a 1/4 spacer or something along those lines... Thanks for the advice... Also anyone know how much $$$ for the rear passenger side wheel bearing? The car is making a weird sound in the rear passenger side. I was driving the car in Chicago and accidently hit a real nasty pot hole on the rear passenger side. The rim itself looks okay, but has a lot of curb rash... Maybe this is causing the sound... I am also fairly certain maybe a bushing or something came loose from this incident... I mean this pot hole was huggggggggggge!!!
