Performance chip for 2000 ES 300?
I recently bought a 2000 ES 300 and am considering purchasing and installing a performance chip (that hooks into the ECU). I've seen that they can be bought for anywhere from $10-$60 on ebay and it says you will get anywhere from 8-12 HP and 8-12 ft/lb of torque. Has anyone done this? If so, does it work, or is it a hoax? I am also wondering if it is not recommended, since I'm guessing that the engineers at Lexus designed these cars to maximize their performance. Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.

It's a resistor in a box with a wire on it.
1) It changes the mixture the wrong direction 2) It will work for a few milliseconds, then the car will perminantely tune what you did out. The only way to chip is to get a piggyback. You get about 10bhp in the mid-upper rpm range from leaning the fuel mixture out. |
Do you know where I could get a piggyback?
