Heat Overload?
 

So it's been really hot where I live (SC). Yesterday the temp. was about 100, and as I was driving home from work I got stuck at a red light for about twenty minutes since traffic was so backed up. Anyway, first the radio started to fade out, then turned off, then the A/C started blowing really weakly. Finally, the battery light came on. Once I accelerated the problem went away, and I've had no problems since. Do I need a new battery, or is this just something that the heat caused? Any advice appreciated.

Heat can really affect the charging and cooling systems in your vehicle. That was your alternator struggling. If it continues to do that, replace it. I had the problem of my other car (eclipse) starting to overheat at traffic lights due to the heat, so i added some coolant and it was ok. You'll run into stuff like that through august with these temps.
