I was messing around in my trunk today and found what appears to be a BNC connector in my trunk, close to the car antenna. I am assuming this is for the cell phone option.

I would like to connect this to my phone using an aftermarket adaptor, this would save me the trouble of leading a cable from the front to the trunk of the car.

Does anyone know where I could begin to look for the front end of this cable? Do I need to pull the console off? Or would it be under the shift console portion? Maybe some of you guys with the cell phone option can take a peek for me.

Thanx

yul still have 2 use an ant. That cable is just an extension which runs from the center console to the trunk.

Talking erm...

erm...yeah I have an aftermarket kit which includes an antenna and the wiring to go from the console to the back of the car. I was hoping to skip a step and use the existing antenna cable, if that is what it is.

But I am having trouble finding where the antenna feeds into the center console.

I have to apologize. I was thinking of a LS/GS phone. On the early model ES's, the ant. wire runs from the trunk (where the factory transceiver is located) to the rear window. This probably doesn't help you much. The last one I installed was about 4 yrs ago.

Smile gotcha

gotcha, darn I was hoping to be able to skip a step. But it should not be too hard to run the antenna wire to the back.

Thanx much, now I wont waste my time looking for a wire in the console.

I have a hands free voice controlled Lexus cell phone in my ES. It is located under the center armrest above the storage compartment. Try looking there?

Thanx much. I installed my kit and just ran a new wire to the rear window, was easier than I thought.
