By far, this is the first DIY fix I performed on my ES300. Thanks for the great write-up. Now I have a popping cup holder. I also found it helpful to first start with the how to pop the shifter panel write-up in order to know where it's safe to stick the flathead into to prevent snapping anything.

Thanks so much for this! My cup holder has been driving me nuts since I bought the car. It only took me 20 minutes too.

I have to laugh. I didn't know there was a cup holder in the car. Mine was stuck when I got the car - not anymore!

Default very well dunn.

Very well done - yep, it reminded me of an old film roll too ( I do not have this model, but I did want to add...)

There is a cup holder adapter available on ebay and amazon that makes the holder hold larger cups and even cupr with handles (like a conventional coffee cup) It is like a funnel, but it has a pronounced step rather than a straight taper - there - clear as mudd.
