Default Replacing Air Intake Hose

I'm going to be replacing my air intake hose on my 92 ES300. Has anyone done this before and have any tips? It looks straight-forward but just thought I'd ask just in case.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks very much

1. Remove the trim from around the gear shift ****. I used my fingers to pry up the rear section first, then pull up and to the rear of the car. Helps to have the trans in neutral. It has wires so don't drag it too far away.
2. You will see 2 phillips screws that join the front and rear sections of console. Remove those 2.
3. At the rear, remove the upper plastic piece with the air vents. With your fingers, pull straight back.
4. At the rear, remove the lower trim piece, pull straight back.
5. With the lower trim piece off, you will see 2 bolts attached to the floor, a few inches in (under the storage box). I used a swivel, socket, and extension. They are kinda hard to get to when putting back in.
6. The whole console assembly should lift straight up. But first, there are 2 places on the sides where the carpet hooks over 2 plastic tabs on the air ducts. They are about mid-way betwen front and back of the console. Find them with your finger tips and just slip them off. There is wiring attached so take care.
7. I had to replace the cupholder which was pretty easy, it's just 4 screws.
8. Installation is just the reverse.
Hi all,

Just to save someone the hassle that I just went through. I've got a 2004 ES330 and had to replace the cupholder. The above instructions did *NOT* work for me. Instead skip #5 and #6 above...you do not need to remove the two bolts at the bottom to get the center console up. Do this instead:

1. Inside the bottom large area in the center console is carpet. Pry up the carpet and you'll see two bolts. Remove these two bolts.
2. Remove the 4 screws on the outside of the center console.
3. Lift up the unit and proceed with #7 from the previous post.

Hopefully that helps someone out there!

-Mark

you remove [upper] intake manifold, remove valve cover
[use autozone for guide, or one you find on here, or one you find on toyota forum or the FREE DOWNLOADABLE FSM [factory service manual] that is all over, you can't miss it if you SEARCH for it]
clean everything that will come into contact with seal and rtv with acetone [nail polish remover].

clamp it down with washers and to a higher torque spec [14 ftlb] or using a ton of rtv in the groove and blabla bla like they say here:

You will need to remove the front head light assembly to gain access to that side marker/flasher. No worries it will not put it out of alignment, just a hassle because you have to remove the bonnet and those plasitic push clips tend to break due to age. Go to auto zone and pick some up, you will need them

On the 98, no need to remove the headlight, the 3rd gen lights are different from the 2nd gen. 97-2001 is considered 3rd gen. To remove the front turn signal lamp, open up the hood and and on top of the headlight near the corner lamp you want to remove is a phillips screw, underneath that youll notice a plastic tab that connects to the corner light. Remove the screw and then with fingers, grab the tab and with your other fingers grab the corner light at the farthest edge from you and wiggle and pull the light towards you, you should be facing the the headlight/corner light. It might be hard at first if it has never been removed before, it should pop straight forward, then you'll have access to the bulb and wiring. To replace is just opposite, but make sure the side tab on the corner light slides into the side recieving end on the headlight. Once properly in, replace screw on top and your done.
