Default Hi, I just got my ES 3 months ago..what kind of tuner do I need...

Hi, I just got my ES 3 months ago..what kind of tuner do I need for this satellite radio thing. This is a 94 ES300 with some kind of antenna on the top of the car that says Sirius. There is a jack looking thing on the front of my radio that says audiovox but there is no tuner or whatever you call it in there.

So my question is did this come standard with the ES? Is there a fee you have to pay to listen to this?
Where can I find a tuner for this jack? (What name should I be looking for since I don't even know what the tuner looks like)

There is a cigarette lighter power cord coming from the jack by the way.

Thanks.

No the Sirius unit that was previously installed was an aftermarket unit. No Lexus has Sirius radio standard...especially in 94 since the technology is newer as of 2000. Since you have an antenna already, all you need is the Sirius FM modulated receiver unit. Audiovox makes one for sure. You can find this at your regular car audio source. Yes there is a fee to listen to Sirius radio $14/mo i believe it was...it's more expensive than XM radio which is about $10/mo.

Hey Flipside - I have a 94' as well.. Can the XM system / reciever be hooked up to our stock system or do i need an aftermarket head unit?
My present head unit is the basic tape player w/ouot cd controls.

you guys are probably going to need an aftermarket head unit.

Pick up an install kit from a stereo shop (to make it a dual single or double din)

and pick up a pioneer head unit or something, you can find some really cheap.

Mine was discontinued, and i got it for cheap. Has some Indy cars that race on it, or you can pick some dolphins...and a bunch of random stuff. Really not bad for the price.

It's XM ready... and I may be selling it here soon... in between jobs and I need the cash. Plus I'm not planning on keeping my car past next year... moving up to the world of RWD.
