Default 1998 ES330 question

Hi all,
Newbie here. Just bought a clean ES330 and there is a symbol in the dash that says there is a rear light out. Looks like they are all working correctly. Any way to check these other than a dealer?

After doing some farther looking I have noticed the left blinker blinks twice as fast as the right one. The left blinker is not nearly as bright as the other one is. These are on the front also. Could this be my problem? How to change the left front blinker bulb also?

GlassFxr, you can follow the how-to on changing tailight bulbs in your '97 ES from this link: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=85185. The blinker bulb is removed by pulling out from its socket. To change the front blinker bulb, look under the hood for the electrical connector with the bulb and disconnect. I am not sure if you have easy access to the bulb from there, but if necessary, you may have to remove the headlamp assy from the car in order to get to the bulb. I have never changed any of the front blinker bulbs, so good luck with that

Congrats and welcome to CL. Just a little clarification, you have an ES300 not a 330. ES330's carry the 3.3L 3MZ-FE V6 which is found in the most recent ES.

If that bulb malfunction indicator light is on, most likely one of your BRAKE lights are out. It may work when you have your parking lights on...but when you step on the brake, the 2nd stage lights to make them brighter is probably out. Dual filament bulb for the brake lights.

flipside,
You are correct. We had looked at the RX330 for so long that I guess I had brain fade. I am also trying to change out the shifter woodgrain plate. Ours was scratched from a cell phone sliding around and the new one came in the mail today. Looks easy to change but have to get the old one off first.

Hehe...with that train of thought, it should still encourage you to get a brand new RX330 anyways! You can drive the ES and buy the spouse the RX
