Thumbs up A keeper

Putting in the extra material makes the lights look good during the day (before, something looked "missing") and it helps the turn signals light up better (the factory amber strip serves to both color and diffuse the light of the turn signal bulbs). I'm assuming you replaced the stock clear bulbs with amber ones to keep it "stock" looking and street-legal.

Very clean install. I think some of the SC300/400 forum guys who cleared their tails did the flourescent light diffuser mod as well to clean it up and spread the light better.

Were the same properties used to get the tail lights apart?

put in oven etc? then remove the orange insert from the inside??

That's the right process. Delicate process to say the least, but once achieved, the tailight dissection can be done numbers of times without hesitation

Default Nice job

I would definitely keep the tail mod. Not only does it help with that what I think dull look of the current ES tails, but it truly does look badass. Do you have your fronts cleared too? and what about the clearcorners?

Question:
"Did you open up the lights and bonded clear plastic material to the tailight lenses?"
"Please tell us how you did the "new" mod! Is that a jeweled texture tape?"

Answer:
"The "new" look is indeed an extra peice that I placed inside the tailight. I used the cover from a defunct lighting fixture that I had lying around and band sawed a strip that fit. I took the car outside in the sun today, and I was suprised how nicely the sunlight caught the inserts. "

mod done. turned out fairly well, but this is a hard mod. I ended up cracking a couple pieces even though i took my time and was really careful. A lil superglue though seems to have fixed the problems. I was able to get pictures, but my sony camera stopped working. Ive sent it back to sony for repair. so when it gets back i can post some pics. If i can borrow a friends camera i'll post some images.
