ES330 auto wipers
Hey guys, I have a 2005 ES330 and I’m having some problems with my wipers especially when they’re on auto. A little back story, when I got the car about a year and a half ago, the auto wipers setting wasn’t working, neither was the windshield washer action, so when you pulled the stalk to clean the windshield it would only spray water and the wipers wouldn’t move. This kept going on until about 2 months ago, when my auto wipers started working randomly out of the blue and they did so wonderfully for about a month until suddenly one day while it was raining they’d stop halfway across the windshield when in use. This only happens on auto tho, when it is on either the LO or HI setting it does up and down to its resting position all the time, but on auto sometimes it will go back to its resting positing and other times it will stop half way across the windshield. I have attached a photo to better describe what I’m saying. I’m guessing this is a sensor issue but I am not sure. If anyone knows what could be causing this problem and how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you so much 🙏

Auto Wiper System on those cars came with a separate Control Module, which is responsible for all Intermittent Positions, aka any Stalk Position aside from Low or High, which is probably the cause of your problem. Here is a thread about it, without owning one of those cars, I am not really sure how to test it aside from simply getting a different unit for a test. Here is a Parts Catalogue for your car showing the Location of the Wiper Control Module, Part Number for it is 85940-33110, they are relatively cheap on eBay, and should be common around Junkyards, it was installed on several different models, here is one off of 2014 RX350 with the matching Part Number.
