For a note/history/archives - If you need to replace the driver’s side heater door actuator, you will generally find no aftermarket parts, other than one vastly overpriced Dorman unit (~$120).
If you cross-reference a 00-04 Avalon part (“left main” actuator), it is the same as the ES. I suspect there are multiple other compatible applications, but this was the most consistent one I could find. I was able to find a cheap replacement for $23 on ebay vs. the $120 Dorman part, or $150 OE unit.
Cleaning the sensor tracks in these will often get them running. In this case, the motor was burned out and I needed a replacement unit, or at least one I could harvest the motor. With persistence I found a direct-fit replacement.
The defining feature is the lever arm is straight (no bend like passenger side), and on the fully flat side of the unit. The part you are after looks like this:
Key seems to be the interchange # 604-954. I’ve also seen others that look identical with similar numbers, 604-955, etc. tagged for Solara, Highlander, etc. I have no idea if they are application #s or actual different parts, but this went right in and works fine.
