Rust remover/converter questions

Greetings to all:
On September 28, 2022 I lost my beloved 2003 ES300 to the flooding associated with Hurricane Ian which made a mess of much of the Fort Myers area. After a lot of searching I was fortunate to acquired a 2006 ES330 with 60K miles and in beautiful one owner condition with all service records and almost every option. The problem is that the car lived most of it's life in Minnesota before moving to Florida. Consequently there's a lot of surface rust underneath. I'm looking at the various treatments available for rust and there are many. Do any of you have experience with this and have a favorite product? I'd be most appreciative to hear your reviews of products that may help. Cordially, VicSWFL 2006 ES330 w/ 60K miles, Oasis Green Pearl with "buttercream" interior |
That car looks like it's in spectacular condition coming from a "salt belt" state. Usually the hood is chipped, at a minimum. Nice clean headlights and windshield, too. Must have been a snowbirder's car. The 2005 and 2006 were the best years, and though I have an '04, I am officially jealous! What I did to mine was to use Fluid Film, but I also put it up for the winter, so really that's double overkill for my situation. Anyway, those years Toyota (cars) and Lexus are exceptionally good at holding up against rust and being in Florida I can't imagine you'd ever have a rust problem. (I have an obsession at work were I look over a car when on a lift for rust and those are my observations.)

Thank you for the advice on Fluid Film and the kind words. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found this car after several months of searching Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. I wanted to find a car with heated seats and the electric rear window sunshade which my 03 had. The heated seats evolved to heated and cooled seats and this car has the sunshade as will as the nav radio and also has the adjustable pedals which I hadn't seen before. I'm pleased to have a car in the garage that will keep me busy at my advancing age (79).

Nice. I wish I had the loaded version! Mine unfortunately is the Base and indeed it lives up to that appellation. Side note, I bought my car from a Pompeo Beach dealership.
