Default My First 1/4 Mile Race !!!

Hey guys, I am not trying to show off or anything, I know there are gurus here running low 12's. I just wanted to share my happiness with you guys. This is my first 1/4 mile run ever in my life and my car is stock except the cats delete and muffler.

I think I could have done better. The temperature was 97 degrees and ran on stock tires and wheels.

This was my first 1/4 mile race ever and I had a blast. God I love the IS-F.

My number is 848 and I ran 13.148. The left was a supercharged camaro.

I am still learning to launch.

Congrats djsai, Sounds like you had a blast and turned some respectable times for a first timer and conditions.

good runs. It's alot of fun my first time ever at a track i ran like 9.2 in the 1/8 by the end of the night i had that down to 8.4 a little practice and you'll improve on those times.

Congrats and it was nice meeting you, get some better tires and you're good to go. Also MIR is a much better track so your times will probably be better there with your current setup.

With practice you'll get better times, the IS-F is capable of 12's bone stock, definitely better times with cats/muffler delete. Your trap speed seems slow, are you using SPORT/VSC OFF/MANUAL?

I used sport manual but VSC ON. I did the VSC ON cuz I couldnt get traction at all when launching. I also think the weather also contributed to my numbers.

Also at what RPM do you shift. Is it when the beep comes on..

VSC ON won't help getting better times. The stock tires are pretty good, I managed a 12.80s at the 1/4 mile bone stock, with spare tire and jack. You need more practice, you seem to be launching your car too hard.

djsai, I told you that track sucked! Prep is horrible there, otherwise you would have had no problem launching on such a warm day with stock tires. For comparison sake, you can typically run stock tires above 80F with no problem at MIR. But since you were at Capitol raceway and you had to make the most of it, it does sound like you were launching too hard for the conditions. How many runs did you get in?
