Default Video of me running the 1/4 mile

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJM7PwCBjyA

The description in the movie explains it all. Not a great day, but I will be running again this weekend at a better track (Rockingham). I will post results and videos. Enjoy the burnout. IS 350s do them best.

***EDIT***

The following week I ran a 13.7 @ 102 at Rockingham Dragway. The link below shows one of my better runs.

It does result in a slower time. I don't know why, but it does. I just did that one for the video. My 60 foot times were like 2.2.

I just took her in for service after that video and they found a nail in the tire... $300 later... Glad the wife bought the tire insurance.

So what was your time and who won?

I couldn't see who won cause someone's fat head was in the way.

You'll get better at the art of launching over time. It's all about launching the car correctly. I run 13.3 - 13.7 all day @ ~102 - 105 MPH, with traction control off of course. You did hold the trac off button for 5 seconds to turn it off, right?

Here's something to motivate you to keep working at launching -

Caymandriver's IS350 doing 13.034 @ 107.09 MPH with just intake/exhaust/midpipe. Weather is on his side, though (it's really, really cold). Weather is huge.

Nevertheless, that's a full second faster than what you pulled, so hopefully it motivates you to keep working at the technique.

Here's another typical drag slip of a stock IS350 -

I did take TC completely off. It is very hot here in NC. That could be a factor.

OK, I ran tonight at Rockingham Dragway about 45 minutes from my abode in Fayetteville. We both ran MUCH better. My best ET (as seen in the video below) was 13.70 and best trap later that night was 102. The temp was still 86 on my last pass. So, I am thinking I could run a much better time in October. My best 60 foot was 2.0... It's amazing how much difference the track makes. I won't be going back to Fayetteville Motorsports anytime soon.

-Side note- my buddy's best ET in his 08 Vette was 12.5 @ 116. Much better than 13.1 @ 113 at Fayetteville Motorsports.

13.7 and 102 traps are very very good, great job

Indeed, getting your 60 foot time down another tenth of a second will, in theory, decrease your overall quarter mile time by roughly 2 times as much. So, getting .1 second off your 60 foot will decrease your 1/4 times by 2*.1 = .2 (13.5 seconds).

Now for another question - during these runs, how much gas did you have in your tank? Did you have your spare tire intact in your trunk?

Weight reduction is arguably the best way to increase results. Try running with 1/4 tank gas and the spare tire removed if you hadn't already done so.
