I can't find a "competition" tire in a good size for 17" wheels. The best tire I've found is the Hoosier R6 245/35-18 which is supposedly another .7" smaller in diameter than the 255/36-18 I'm using now. It isn't a "drag radial", but I'm sure it would be MUCH better than any street tire. However, it would probably be the absolute best track tire for my stock 18's that are in my attic. If I did something like that, I would get matching 225/40-18's for my front OEM wheels.

sincityIS I ran a 13.320 today myself. Gernby has run serveral 8.5 1/8th miles and I was lined up right behind him on his 13.25 run. I assure you is's run faster then what you think.

oh and speaking of which I am proud of my 13.320. I still only have 2800 miles on my car so I am hoping to be where gernby is when i have 10k miles. I too had full interior. I did leave my spare home.

Here's a pic of me and gernby's cars also. Not like you haven't seen a pic of an is before. His is the white one that is faster then mine oh and he weighs more then me too.

Hey you probably drove the IS250 instead of the 350. I am planing on taking mine to the track soon. Hopefully next month or so. I'm going to be running with my 20" wheels. I just want to see the difference between my 20s and my stock wheels. Time slips don't lie.

I think I'll trust his time with a slip as well as well as combfilters time and slip, as well as C&D's time of 13.7 and R/T's time of 13.6 over your butt dyno comparison.

Awsome runs btw!

Have you removed any cats yet? I've got the HKS Hi-Power exhaust too and I'm probably gonna remove the secondary cats sometime this week.

Congrat on the awesome times guys, no need to prove anything to the doubters since there are a bunch of us here know what the IS350 is capable of first hand. Glad to see more of you guys hitting low 13 at the strip, good job guys.

i have video of me running a 13.4, but i kind of don't want to post it because this civic with nitrious beat me.

i don't think you can see the sign either, but I'll put it up today.

Thanks for the remarks guys.

West: yes 2nd ones are gone
tt061880: my car def. got faster now that the mods are done. I went from being happy about running 1/8th's in the upper 8.7's to now not being happy unless I am running them in the 8.5's. I am going out to the 1/4 track 1 more time under less humid conditions to see if I can get a 13.2 also. 13.320 is too damn close to 13.2xx to not try again. Plus i can't have gernby having a faster car then me

I've read 3 threads now where you're putting out bad information about my times and what I had done to my car when I got them.

My best time was achieved w/o the supercharger and w/o the drag radials. All I had done at that time was the weight removal.

I havn't run at the track with the latest weight reduction being the racing seats in place of the stock front seats and the new smaller pulley because of issues with finding the right size belt.

I did take it back to the track when the supercharger was first put on with the drag radials and I couldn't get better than the 13.1 because of issues with the launch.

I'm just as anxious as everyone else to see any IS get into the 12's, so I will be following your progress very intently in the next few months as my IS will probably not see much track time for a while due to the upcoming move from FL to IL.

I apologize man. I've tried finding the most current info about your car, and based on the info I found, it looked like your most current results were with the SC and drag radials. Honestly, that is a relief to know that it won't take THAT much more to get into the 13.1s.

BTW, won't it be pretty hard to get good times in IL due to the altitude?

Okay, so I KNOW I'm going to kick myself in the morning (when I'm sober), but I just ordered a pair of Hoosier R6 245/35-18s for my OEM rear wheels. They have the same tread width as the stock rears, but are 6.5% shorter in diameter (gearing). They are also R compound, which should kick any street tire's *** in grip even though it isn't a "drag radial". I really don't want to invest any money in drag racing gear since I'm really not planning on doing it much. I'll enjoy the Hoosiers MUCH more on the road course!

I did this because a couple friends are interested in heading out to Ennis this weekend, so I guess I'm going again. I'm also thinking about removing my passenger seat, even though that is kind of like cheating for a "street car".
