I think I need to find another less expensive hobby, or a cheap financial advisor.

congrats. i LOVE mine. sure it's 'only' F4, but that means it's lighter with more range making it more versatile and convenient. and i think the image quality is great.

I'd been wanting a light rig for casual food shots at a budget minded price point. Managed to cobble up the light rig for sub $200. A local buddy had an aging 580EX Speedlight and with our deal he included an external battery pack, flash extender and a 24x24" diffuser cube. The basic rig as it will be set-up for use on the G15 and G9:

Didn't REAAALLLY anything new, but this last weekend there was a Classic Camera fair so I bought a couple of stuff including a new strap for the F3 and an extra film case from Japan Camera Hunter, who was also there. Didn't buy a new camera. Even a disease has to have its limits.

An impulse purchase of a Canon M3 from their refurb site. I was to slow to make a purchase decision on the body, kit lens and lens adapter so all that was available was the body and lens adapter. Pictured here with the 24-70 for the amusement. The pre-owned 18-55 will arrive this Thursday from KEH.

Just noticed the Contax G2...how are prices there? The one lens I had lusted after was the 21mm. They hit a good low of ~$500 then when all the adapters for 4/3'rds came out Contax G glass went back up. Still am tempted to hunt one down. I have 28, 35, 45 and 90.

I paid too much for the G2. Hearing all these stories about them breaking down, I got a mint one where the LCD screen hasn't bled for a song. I only have the 35mm and have no plans to build up the system. That is reserved for the Nikon . I see a couple of 21mms here with the external viewfinder included, prices aren't too bad but I don't shoot enough ultra wide to want to buy it. I can check the price of the combo next time I'm in the area.

Back in the day I bought the G1 and loved the compactness. Had been lugging the Nikon F4s so this was a dramatic weight change. After that got hooked and hunted down another G1 and more lenses. LCD bleed is . I didn't realize that leaving the batteries in was bad until it had bled in one. I'd be curious what those 21mm's go for in your parts. In the past I'd seen them listed from $500-$1,100. With box and all they had hovered in the $900 range. The thought was when we got to Japan I'd hunt one down with Yen at 113:1 back in Feb of '16. I'd lusted after a G2 along with the 35-70 lens too. So many tempting cameras.

yeah it's an awesome system. I'm alternating between the G2 and Xpan, every week. The Zeiss lens are just gorgeous, the colors always turn out great, never have to mess in post. I usually just go out with that and a couple rolls of film and get 8-9 good shots per film. So light and so much fun, doesn't hurt that they look so darn good.

it's nice to hold too since it's got a proper grip. I get sore hands holding the F3, hence I've been using it less and less ever since I got the G2.

I actually seen a black one with the zoom lens, that I think is just the best-looking camera ever, but I couldn't find a black 35mm to go with it, so I went with the titanium color.

I'm getting the scans back from the lab this week. I'll check out the prices for ya.

Just got my slides from the lab today. Holding it up to a light source...nothing quite like it.

And for you Mike. Prices are in HKD, so juts divide by 7.8. Fairly pricey but it does come included with the much needed external viewfinder.

There is a rewarding feeling when looking at transparencies because they just don't "happen" nor can they be saved if over or under done. You nailed it and seeing each frame that way is Good job those look great! I'd always have a frame or two that I'd slightly missed in reading a good exposure value. The challenge is fun. RVP is gorgeous, I also liked RDP Provia for the slightly reduced saturation and contrast. Fuji blues and greens I liked in their transparency films. Well done Kevin.

Those prices seem fair, on the Contax gear. I'm excited to eventually hunt one down and use the G1 again.
