Need Help: 2013 CT200 Brakes Sound
Hey Folks,
I'm looking at buying a 2013 CT200h (my first hybrid vehicle). During my test drive today, I heard this sound every time I touched the brake pedal:

That sound occurred, regardless if it was a light tap or a hard press on the pedal. I told the seller that I will get back to him tomorrow as I wanted to research that sound. When I test drove a 2016 CT200h, I don't remember hearing that sound. What do you think?
PS: I will definitely get a pre-purchase inspection before making my decision, but I figured if I can figure out what that sound is and if it's a known defect, I'll just turn around from the sale and save the $$$ on the PPI.
Thanks all!

Only been asked 55,000 times (a day) lol. That's completely normal. that's the electronic actuator that assists the brakes because the engine doesn't run all the time to do that like on a regular car. so it's done electronically.
Don't waste your money on a pre purchase inspection. These cars are nearly bulletproof and there.s a 0.00000000005% chance you'll encounter something wrong.
I'd just look for records to make sure the oil was changed at least every 10k and look for obvious things (with your eyeballs) like worn tires, worn brakes etc.
There's literally nothing to think about on this car. you simply sit in the drivers seat and push on the gas. for your entire life. it's not like buying a used bmw. then i'd have a 20-page comprehensive list of things to look for.
that's the beauty of this car. simple
