Take power feed from interior light assembly ?
 

Hi,

Having collected my 2011 non-nav CT200h from the garage this afternoon, I now want to try and get my Pure Highway 600 DAB adapter fitted. I need to run power and audio cables from the DAB receiver that is part of the window aerial that comes with the unit. I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can answer:

1) I noticed that the interior light assembly runs up towards the top of the windscreen, does anyone know If I can take a ‘piggy back’ power feed from that assembly to power the window aerial dab receiver?

2) The natural route to take any audio cable, and power cable if the roof light idea isn’t practical, seems to be down the A side pillar next to the windscreen, but that is marked to indicate an airbag. I obviously need to be careful here. Is it possible to tuck a cable in without disturbing the airbag, or do I need to find an alternate way?

You can fit cables near the airbag, just make sure it runs BEHIND the airbag and is not zip tied to the airbag.

As for power in the map light, yes there's power up there. you'll need to use a multimeter to find a switched 12V power supply wire. I forgot which one it is exactly but I believe it was in the corner of one of the bundles. Use a multimeter to be safe. they're super cheap at your local discount tool store.

I wired my dash cam to have power that comes directly from the main dome light plug (I think it was a 28 pin connector in my case). I don't remember the pins but it was a red wire and a white/black wire. However, use a multimeter to find out exactly where you'll have +12V DC. Just keep in mind that there is a constant power that comes to the dome light from a 10A fuse and there's +12V that comes from the body control ecu which the ecu can switch on/off depending whether the car is on or off. You can tuck the cable behind the airbag, just make sure it's behind the airbag itself.
