2018 CT200h F Sport

Saw this on Reddit... it does look very good. My 2015 is exactly like this, black mirrors, tinted windows, same color etc. just without the refreshed body parts. i like the rear bumper trim add ons.. front ones too. i wonder if they're bolt ons (I imagine they are) and how we can get them in the US. The updated hybrid badge (lower rear door) also looks good too. I wonder if this is in the existing parts bin or specific to this car. The tail lights and rear hatch trim look good too.. but i imagine that would be very cost prohibitive to get for a while.

yeah that 2018 refresh is nice...

1 or 2 members on here were able to get the headlights but, like you said, cost prohibitive.

i think there was a recent post that said it might be just the lip of the rear hatch that had to be replaced to to use the new tailights.

yeah i figured that out myself re the tail lights. it's not the lip but the whole rear upper piece that's different. (not the tailgate) that piece is plastic (or polycarbonate). that likely would be very expensive. i'd be happy with the rear trim pieces over the reflector areas.

I like the upper hatch trim piece, it actually extends out quite a bit, and makes it look much more sporty and updated. The tail light also modernizes it quite a bit..

I posted this overlapping comparison on 2014 and 2018 CTs, and I had been looking on the market to order these parts for a while. I asked a shop which did the conversion and confirmed as new taillight you just need the new rear hatch lip. and yeah cost prohibitive.... used lip alone is around 60,000 japanese yen and used taillight set is around 164,000 japanese yen

E46CT 05-16-19 09:02 AM

^that would roughly be $600 and $1,640. yeah.. i'll get these parts if someone makes them aftermarket or they get on the used market somehow.. i don't think they'd be that much if you walked up to a parts counter at a Lexus of Taiwan dealership or something.. how much could it be. Lets say one of those customers in Asia backed into something and wanted to replace a trim piece. should be pretty cheap.

I did ask dealers from Taiwan, brand new taillight set is around USD $1800 and lip is around USD $800
I also asked the shop did the conversion from Taiwan and they charged USD $3200 for parts and labor.

I can understand for taillight they can cost that much, but for the lip......?

Yeah i'm talking about a TW resident walking into a dealer and asking for the little plastic rear bumper garnishes on the lower reflector. the lights and stuff would likely be expensive.

labor is moot for me cause i do literally everything myself. easy stuff

i think there's lots of "tuner shops" who may offer these services for importing parts and charging extra. maybe if i take a trip to TW one day (or any other asian country) i'll stock up ;)
