Default Noises!!

I have noticed that once i get up to 60mph or so I start to hear a noise from the passenger front side of teh car, it is almost like wind is rushing in a hole or rocks rattling around. I have had my son lean against the window and all panels while driving and that did not fix it, I know it is difficult to diagnose a noise without hearing it but anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Also, stainless steel cups rattle in the cup holders....what is a fix for this?

You MAY be hearing the ventilation fan turning on for the hybrid battery. The vent is located on the passenger side, but it's actually behind you on the passenger side of the rear seats (in case you didn't know). When it goes off, I often times think there's some sort of wind leak in the front passenger area, as if a window or vent were open. Check for that in case that's what it is. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

I have the same rattling problem. I had a stainless steel water bottle that rattled all day. The rubber mat that sits at the bottom of the cup holder only helps so much, but the stiff ride causes any drink to vibrate against the walls of the cup holder. Try taking a paper towel that you fold into a square, then press it down in the bottom and place your cup on top of it. Worked for me, as the parts of the paper towel that rise up around the bottom hug the bottle enough to keep it from reaching the edges of the cup holder and vibrating/rattling. I have since switched to re-using Evian 1-liter water bottles because they fit perfectly. Snug enough to tighten the cap without the bottle moving, and no noise.

I wish it was just the back vent, it sounds like it is coming from the front passenger side door, it is the noise you hear when sunroof is barely open only a little quieter.....IT IS DRIVING MY CRAZY!

I was hoping there was another option besides the shoving of napkins in cup holder......

Inspect all seals, clean, and moisturize them. I recommended this in the IS forum... great stuff. https://amzn.to/2zN66Ny

You can also tighten the door against the body of the car. Inspect if the door is sticking out relative to where it meets the back door. May need to bring the door in 1mm to create a tighter seal. Check for missing drain plugs underneath.

Has the car been in any accidents or any repairs to that side?

Also make sure your vapor barrier is in tact. pull the door panel.

This will take some detective work =)

Let me know if need any help or other ideas.

If nothing so far helps, see if you could capture the audio for us. Might help us (and a mechanic if you choose to go that route) to diagnose it.
