whoa... that's interesting. not ready to give up on this design yet, for sure. i mean the new bmw x2 has very similar lines. so i think for lexus to pull the plug at all was a little premature.

plus i'm not completely sold on the ux... i think if i had to, i'd go with the toyota sibling - c-hr

i also found this vid by 'carwow' that says, at the end of the video, that the ux is built on the new 'small car' chassis which will be the same as 'forthcoming new CT'

nice find, raidin!

Thanks! I'm glad I visit Autoblog all the time. I have updated the post I made, by the way, and turned the link text into an actual clickable link, which I forgot to do when originally posting.

FYI, your video link is showing code. I did copy and paste the "i_81hQ1irdY" part of your link and added it to the usual YouTube link to get:

Which I believe is the video you referenced?

It is about damn time Toyota/Lexus came out with an electric vehicle. Would love an EV CT over a UX hybrid!

BEV would be great, PHEV would be perfect.

Could also use just a little tiny bit more room for cargo. 2018 Camry Hybrid's cargo space is absolutely glorious.

A pure EV CT would be pretty cool. The best part would be the speed boost it would get from the electric motors.

It's supposedly rumored that the first Lexus EV will either be the UX or CT. Either way that would be awesome. An EV CT would compete directly with the Audi A3 E-Tron EV. I wish Lexus would bring it to market much sooner.
