Dry rot - original Michelin MXM4
I have been told by the dealer that the tires on my 2013 ct200h with 17,000 miles. Has anyone had this problem? And what tire did you replace them with?

As I understand it, tires usually start to rot around the 5 year mark. I personally never had this issue as I've never owned a car for 5 years straight that wasn't my work car, so I end up replacing the tires or the car itself before rot becomes an issue.
I did try several tires out since I go through them once a year on my CT. My favorite so far is the Bridgestone Ecopia EP 422 Plus, for the fuel efficiency and life of the tread.

This had happened to my other car before, but not the CT.
There is a CL member who works as a carrier and drove a lot on his CT200h with like 300K+ miles. He had cganchahis tires multiple times already. Maybe he will chime in or you can do a search? He wrote some good recommendations on tires.
I replaced mine with the exact OEM Michelin tires on sale a couple of years ago on Tire rack.com. The sale price was a little better to justify buying OEM. Otherwise cost to high IMHO.

makes sense given the year + low mileage.

Lack of use, exposure to extremely high or low temperatures, or prolonged exposure to UV radiation can all cause rubber’s molecular chains to break down over time — and time itself is a factor, too. Rubber is one polymer that just doesn’t last forever, and its descent into decay begins the moment it’s manufactured.
So take your classic car out for a spin every now and then; its tires will thank you.
